Accessible Audiobooks (CELA) eBooks and eAudiobooks Library Card Required.

The Guelph Public Library partners with the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) to provide a collection of books, magazines, and newspapers in accessible formats for patrons with print disabilities. A print disability is a visual, physical, or learning disability that prevents a person from reading conventional print.

CELA offers:

  • A growing collection of over 1 million titles for all ages in audio, braille, or accessible e-book formats
  • Newspapers, magazines, and books
  • English and French with expanding access to other languages
  • Free DAISY apps for iOS or Android devices

To register for CELA please contact the library or self-register on the CELA website. You will need to provide your library card number to complete the registration process.

Great Courses, The Learning Library Card Required.

Guelph Guardian and Guelph Life

The Guelph Public Library recently digitized the Guelph Guardian and Guelph Life.  The Guelph Guardian located on Quebec Street was published by the Guardian Publishing Company. The library holds copies dating from approximately 1959 to 1966. Guelph Life located on 93 Regal Rd dates from approximately 1975 to 1977.  Both productions helps document Guelph’s rich history.

Kanopy Kids Learning Movies and Television Library Card Required.

Kanopy Kids offers a wide range of child-friendly categories, including Movies, TV Shows, Story Time, Language Learning, and more. You'll find some fan favourites along with critically acclaimed films and educational documentaries that the whole family can enjoy.

The Kanopy Kids section is fully separated from the main Kanopy library—even search results are limited to kid-appropriate content. Kanopy Kids doesn't use any credits and all shows and movies come with unlimited viewing. Parents can also enable parental controls to ensure children stay within the Kanopy Kids experience.
