Apply for visiting library service

Can’t make it to the library? We’ll bring the library to you— for free!

The Visiting Library Service is available to Guelph residents who are homebound and unable to visit the library independently due to age, long-term illness, or disability. We provide extended loan periods, staff-selected materials, and volunteer delivery to your home.

How it works
Each month, staff choose up to 10 items based on your interests. A volunteer delivers them in a Guelph Public Library bag and picks up the previous month’s returns.

Where we deliver
Within the City of Guelph, excluding addresses already served by our bookmobile.

Seasonal and temporary service
Only need the service for a short time? Seasonal service is available during the winter months and temporary service (minimum 8 weeks) is available while recovering from illness or surgery, or for new and expectant parents.

Other options
Prefer more flexibility? We can arrange to have items held at any library location for a designated friend, family member, or caregiver to pick up on your behalf.

Many library resources are also available online that you can access from home.
